The Timeshare Association (TATOC) is a non-profit making limited company formed in 1989. It was established initially to act as a networking group for the appointed members of timeshare owners' committees. Its objectives, more relevant today than before, are as follows:

TATOC will use its best endeavours to:

1. promote the maintenance of high quality standards for resorts facilities and amenities, and to encourage the efficient management of timeshare resorts through communication and education
2. lobby and campaign on matters related to timeshare and timeshare owners through liaison with trade industry bodies and government departments
3. promote the positive image of timeshare through all communications
4. represent and communicate with resorts and, in particular, owners' committees
5. receive and respond to owners' and consumer concerns, questions and issues are they arise
6. produce solutions to timeshare related problems, to prevent timeshare issues arising, and to respond to known industry problems
7. challenge and discourage bad practice
8. be recognised by the media and the industry in general as the credible interface to the timeshare industry
9. advise TATOC members on how to achieve maximum benefit from their timeshare ownership
10. understand and disseminate legislation at a level that can be readily understood and communicated
11. act as an encourager and facilitator for positive change for the timeshare industry
12. become the recognised voice of timeshare owners in Europe
