It is with great sadness that the TATOC board and team were informed of the sudden and unexpected death of industry veteran Ron Haylock.

Ron was respected by everyone involved in the industry for his positivity, knowledge and his wish to find a solution to the issues facing resorts today. His death on Tuesday evening has shocked all that knew and worked with him. 

After a long and varied career which included roles as managing director of RCI Europe and chairman of the RDO, (Resort Development Organisation), Ron became involved with industry charity Christel House. He travelled extensively around the world, attending industry events and raising funds for Christel House schools in South Africa, India, Mexico and Venezuela.

Away from the industry Ron was non-executive director for several travel companies and chairman of the governing Council of the University of Nottingham in the U.K.

Ron's great passions were classical music, wine and the trees on his land at Dingley near Market Harborough.

Harry Taylor and the board would like to extend their condolences to Ron's family and close friends. He will be greatly missed by all.

TATOC affiliate Confused About Timeshare has released a new video on timeshare resales on the social media site, YouTube.

The video, which lasts just under two minutes, shows how safe and easy it is to sell timeshare using the services of Confused About Timeshare.

"I plan to roll out more videos over the coming months as YouTube is a great way to get the message out there," explained Mark Bell, managing director of Confused About Timeshare.

Every minute, 72 hours of video are uploaded and there are millions of new subscriptions each day. Subscriptions allow you to connect with someone or something that you are particularly interested in and keeps you updated with their activity on the site.

TATOC has announced the launch of the TATOC Ambassador Programme and the appointment of Mike Ashton as chief Ambassador. 

It is expected that the Ambassador Programme, which was unveiled at the recent TATOC Conference by executive chairman Harry Taylor, will play an important role in the realisation of the updated TATOC Five Year Plan.

In the Plan, TATOC announced its intentions to increase resort membership and company affiliation, identify new revenue streams and promote the activities of the Association to the wider industry.

Dial An Exchange (DAE) is enlisting the experience and opinions of its members as it continues to focus on providing quality holidays.

As part of its checks and balances procedures Dial An Exchange is using its own customers' feedback to ensure high standards and quality are maintained.

After returning from their holiday, each member is encouraged to write a review of the resort that they have visited. This will then be displayed to all other DAE members on the Dial An Exchange website under the resorts' profile. Other members can read the first-hand feedback of each resort before choosing to book a holiday themselves.
